Natura 2000 Areas – Habitats

Α protective net for the ecosystems and endangered species of Europe. The network of NATURA 2000 areas of the European Union: an initiative of an open society that takes into consideration the consequences of human disregard for nature, is concerned about the dangers it brings about, and, following scientific research and laws, aims at preventing further irreparable damages to the ecosystem… An insightful policy that aims at ensuring sustainable development for the places endowed with unique natural characteristics, paired with cultural wealth and potential for tourism development.
A protective net for the unique ecosystems of Milos: the inclusion in the NATURA 2000 network of the land and coastal zone of the western part of the island - two areas with rare characteristics. A decision that shields the natural balance and diversity of the ecosystem…And, at the same time, a promise of development and an optimistic sign for the growth of a privileged place that so far exploited the environment  only with one use in mind and can now make the most of its natural wealth with respect and moderation.
